Peter Blake

Image
Peter Blake The  reason why I am looking at Peter Blake is because of his self portrait he created in 1961 with badges on his shirt, showing he has a badge collection as well and that I found inspiration to create the modernised version of me in the similar aesthetic as Peter Blake's self Portrait to show my collection in a similar way.  Self Portrait with Badges- Peter Blake This is the piece designed by Peter Blake created a Self-portrait of himself with Badges on his shirt  in  1961    incorporated the themes of pop culture for marketing reasons because of current trends. He created this using oil paints you can tell this piece has significance on pop art due to the picture of Elvis on a comic the guy has on his hand.  Myself with pins on my shirt  This here is the photo of me in a similar pose as Peter Blake which Is where my inspiration is for my digital drawing of the self portrait bel...

The origin and History on Blue Peter Badges

Image
The History behind Blue Peter Badge The reason for this page of research is because I knew history of my badges as in how I got them but not known the legacy behind them and seeing as Blue Peter Badges are like MBE's for children , I wanted to discover more about the badge because I have two badges myself and thought it's about time I discover the history and origin behind the badge.  Blue Peter is a British Variety TV show on CBBC for children, that includes anything from Music, Challenges, talks on latest trends, Arts & crafts, cooking and much more.  Blue Peter was first made and aired 16th October 1958 and continues to work its magic to this day. Blue Peter is currently 63 Years old ) (Jan 2021)  The iconic Blue Peter badge was launched and broadcasted on the TV screens on the 17th July 1963 Amazing ain’t it! Badge Photography

Image
Badge Photography As for one of the workshops we did in the near beginnings of this project we had to take photographs of our collection items as a bit of a photoshoot aesthetic, so we can then develop them further using photoshop. Here are my photos I have taken, where I have focused on arranging them in various ways, using the themes of various audiences, in differenciated age groups such as badges for 5-12 year olds and teens to mid adult to then badges for senior citizens out of my collection along with categorising them in colour groups as this is a big thing for me in terms of how I arrange items is in colour co-ordination, I also looked at height order and the materials of the badges. etc, anyway- you'll see as you scroll through them. Hope you enjoy looking at my badge collection in a photoshoot.

Type with Badges

Image
Typography With Badges You could call this set of art as an experiment, but with badges and typography seeing as I collect badges and originally was hoping to use this as a way to write on my website but instead I used it to be included in my ident trailer for my website and to which I am hoping to use this later in the project when I do the publication  section of the editorial project. Letters A-Z- Typography made out of badges                                                  A-Z individual lettering out of button badges. Which turned to this, I edited each photo I took of the badges in every letter of the alphabet as you can see above and then used photoshop to edit them and put them together as a typographic typeface. I also decided to do this as it was an idea that os fairly unheard of to physically make a typeface out of my chos...

Questionnaire 1: Collections

Image
Questionnaire Part 1: General Collections For this entry I decided to do a brief researching on a questionnaire on collections in general on how people view them, unfortunately I only found I explored 2 audiences to this but i'm glad that the audiences parallel Agee being 18-24 and 45-50 but I do wish i9 looked at a more varied audience . Anyway, here is the link for the Questionnaire... for doing the questionnaire I used a programme called survey monkey.  https://www.surveymonkey.com/create/preview/?sm=aYuEqwVQ4CaOr8YcTd8chFP5_2B_2BAsI66ARsZiMf5HlsE_3D Here were the answers I was given on my survey... Participant's thoughts on collections... This here is what people thoughts on collections in general, I did this research for the purposes of understanding to what people interpret collections and how people can view them as its always good to understand and learn different peoples perspectives on collections in general.
