Website Layout 3
Website Layout 3
After finding out that the Webden website builder costs £7 a month to publish it, which really frustrated me due to the fact that on the website itsself said make a website cost free and turned out it wasn't free to publish, as well as the fact it took weeks to complete, but I had to find a solution behind that, which was to find another website builder, for this layout, I have found another website builder, that is free to create and free to publish... called Wix.
Home Page
With this home page I decided to go for a sophisticated yet a simplistic aesthetic, at then same time, more to the fact I thought it would keep children interested, but now I realise with this layout, I found it wasn't the most suitable layout for children where I Anne mentioned to me that the colour choice on this layout was too intimidating for the child's eye with the solid black with the red in the image both being strong colours it made me realise this isn't a suitable image for children. I feel the same way after looking at examples of children's websites. I must admit I like the aesthetic of this homepage for the colour pallet but wasn't suitable for children, so unfortunately i've had to rethink of my layout.
History
With this history page, I decided as this website I originally wanted to base it on the Blue Peter Badge, seeing as a blue Peter badge is like an MBE for children and is a badge aimed for children as an incentive for them to learn and do interactivity for a rewarding badge.
Homemade Badges & Pins
On this page, I spoke about my homemade badges and pins as an interactive element on this website. I wanted to try making it so children can learn how to make badges for themselves, but with this page it wasn't quite what I was looking for as it looks too much like a portfolio website as apposed to interactivity on how to make them again the interactivity isn't all there.
Graphics & Illustrations
On this page here I think the aesthetic of the website is much more aesthetically pleasing in my perspective, but foe the children's eye this website doesn't work, it doesn't encourage them to create imagery of their collection weather it be images of badges or other collectable items.
Experiments
With this page, I have followed the same systematic layout as the graphics and illustrations page for the same reasons but I don't think this was the right way to do this it makes 4th website seem more like. I am showing off my work instead of giving the website meaning.
Photography Page
With this page here, there was too much going on with a lot of photos uploaded, I did this because I wanted to show people how they could display their collection if they go for categorising in Alphabetical order, based on timeline or even as to being based on colour etc I also wanted to try showing this in different perspectives but I think if the website is for children they're going to be overwhelmed with how busy this
page is. there is no purpose shown apart from the photos with no description, almost like ive shown off too much... like a portfolio instead of a fun interactive website.
Contacts Page
With this section, same as the home page, I think the contacts page is too explicit for a website for children nd they're less likely to want to get hold of the maker of the website, they'd most like want to play games and do interactive activities on the website. I think having a contacts section doest work with an audience for children.
