Front Cover Development

The Journey to the Front Cover

This entry is about my design process of my front cover for the publication, I decided to record this separately as I thought it be easier to talk about the developing process for this part of the publication, here is my developments below.

First Variation

with this front cover, I went for an image I was font with in my edits with my marble art experiments, I went for this image because originally I was aiming this publication towards a more senior audience. But I did like the aesthetic of the cover, but I realise it wasn't the
right kind of cover, it doesn't suggest badge collecting at all by looking at it so I decided to redesign it.

I then moved on with my design idea, by using a photo I took of the badge box of remedies piece, where it.contains my full badge collection with the simplistic Baskerville font as a typeface for the title with the American Typewriter with the typeface for my name.

With this variation, I basically went for the same aesthetic but using Helvetica instead of Baskerville and American Typewriter for the title and for the name and I used a yellow highlight on this piece where the text is, to bring it out as the image in the background was very dominant.

Drawn Cover: American Typewriter & a Bubbly font

With this variation here, Anne Gave me some feedback about making the image look more bold to give it a stronger edge and it follows consistency with the imagery I drew of the Egyptian doing and other imagery within this piece and so I drew the badge box of remidies on Pro Create and I then used the Bubbly font and American typewriter for the typography.
