Website/App Prototype Layout

App Layout 1

On this entry I will be talking about the app prototype I made on Adobe XD I made this during a workshop with Jordan when I was learning the basics of Adobe XD to learn how to operate the programme and the purposes behind it.

Here's some notes I took on Adobe XD:

My App Mockup Design...

This app design I was aiming the audience for children of 5-12 year olds... after doing questionnaires and interviews I found people who I spoke to say badges tend to be aimed mostly for children and as well as the reasons of the simplicity of the Application and that children are more likely to discover an app before a website... not only that but this  concept is very illustrative and has a childlike aesthetic with many bright and vibrant colours which will engage children... I was hoping to incorporate some childlike video clip but unfortunately the programme I was using... called XD doesn't allow video access- maybe because this programme is new and not yet fully developed or just because this programme is for creating prototypes for displaying various layouts and mockups as opposed to making final touches, so I have decided for this to be a mockup design for how I would create an app about
badges for kids.

Here are the photos go each page as a closeup...

Home Page

The homepage has a Very simplistic aesthetic, using a typeface I made called Swingger I made on font struct, which kid of looks old fashioned vintage which is an aesthetic I was going for as badges are  old fashioned objects I then had a bright bold poster saying badges kept simplistic with bright colours to illuminate and attract the children's eye with a photo of my badge collection and very limiting text.
History Page

This page is very simplistic with just a picture of my timeline of my badge collection along with why people would collect badges and try and persuade others to start collecting them as well. I like that the history pages quite mature but it's meant to be just for his kids get an idea that when they can collect badges on an app they can put their timeline off as well and with the brainstorm on the bottom with the colourful typography and lettering I did that more just amuse the children try and catch their eye onto the more mature half of the page.
The Collection

This page is showing Photos of my full badge collection with line drawing as I wanted to try and draw kids in with this page. The intention with this page would have been to try and encourage them to upload photos of their badge collection as well and drawings they've
done also.

Digital art

This page again similarly to the image page above I was trying to engage kids so again they can post their artwork onto this page and that would've been the intention if I was to go with the app in retrospect to encourage them as a bit of an interactive element to engage them with limiting texts and wording and adding more illustrative aesthetics.

Experimentation Page

With this page I made was an experimental page because I was going to try and get kids to post their experimental art up with the intention for what they create with their badge collections as another interactive element.

Extas

With this page of the app, the intention was trying to encourage kids to make their own badges and to make this page into a sell page so if they wish to see the badges I made and buy they can and same for if they wish to make their own badges as well they can and then post them.
