Variety of experiments

Variety of experiments

(From photoshoot)

With this set of experiments I decided to experiment and develop my images from my photoshoot, I did this to see what I can create that could potentially be on my publication and website.

With this first experiment I went onto photoshop and I added a filtered pattern and gave this piece a underwater like texture and looks very trippy, I decided to go for this to see what I can create using the other effects on photoshop, to make my work more exciting and more aesthetically pleasing.

With this second experiment I added a rippling eggiest in the middle of the image where it looks more of an underwater trippy effect I decided to do this as a mark of curiosity as it makes you wonder more and what I like as well is the fact you can't fully see but in that ripple is the image I designed of the two fish months ago which is in the heart of the tripping ripple effect it just adds to this piece.

With this next piece I experimented with the hue saturations and went for the more simplistic piece where I went for just the rippling effect on a couple badges as opposed to most of the badges, I also went for a lighter aesthetic and decided to add some bright colours for the backdrop of the piece which is why you can see tints of various.colours In the image.

On this experiment I went for a much lighter aesthetic so light in fact that the lighting is a tad over exposed and isnt my favourable experiment because you can't see much of the piece and the over exposed light just ruins the piece entirely.

On this experiment I went for a darken aesthetic which is a much more preferable experiment than the over exposed piece above, with this piece I like the rippling effect and the fact its in black and white till the middle parts where the rippling effect is in the experiment I really like and I feel its much more aesthetically pleasing. On this piece I think it works best for the teens if I was doing my website and publication for teenagers for one because of one of the badges saying "Team Boobs!" and also because of the aesthetic of the piece wouldn't be great for the eyes of children.

With this piece here I basically played with the hue saturations on photoshop and went for a yellow tint as I thought black and yellow work well together and the contrast between the two colours is strong because the colours are practically polar opposites but they're dynamics work well together, like you see black and yellow with wet floor signs and other signs warning of danger I feel the colours yellow and black are colours of warning which I wonder If this is the right aesthetic I am going for or not.

Here are some more black and yellow experiments but with these two I have enhanced the yellow tints thats the only differences with these experiments.

With this piece here. I went for a dark aesthetic with the colour pink/red to co-inside with the blackened colouring, the thing with this piece is usually red and black work well with each other but this is a good example of a piece where red and black don't always work well together so again this piece isn't my favourable ounce, with this piece you lose a lot of the detail in this piece because of how dominant of a red I
went with.

With this piece here I decided to add a paintbrush tool with the pink and I then used hue saturations for the other layers and experimented with the blend modes, this I think is an interesting look and is quite quirky and a bit on the trippy side. I went doe this t see if it would work for the mind of the Childs eye nevus I did my app prototype for children so I figured maybe stick for children for the website, but I don't think this piece has what it takes to be one for children.

I went dor a lighter aesthetic for this piecer where I lightened where the pink was using the setting of the hue saturations and I thought It would look different with a lighter tint of red and  black also.

With this final piece of this section I combined the colours blue, greens and whites together this is a hard mix kind of aesthetic and I like the fact the text is in white and the green and blue is the colourings of the badges I just like it for the fact it looks different and is something you don't see everyday.

With this piece here I liked the fact that the images of the badges are spliced together but also split on the original badge in a bit of an asymmetric break the grid kind of aesthetic.

With these piece here I looked at the colour and decided to change the colour co-ordinations to see what it'll look like to see the difference and seeing if iy worked well or not.

What I liked about the pieces in this section is the fact that the imagery of the badges are duplicates and double up slightly in a. reflective aesthetic almost like a heckle and Hyde kind of thing where the badges have its original colour and the badge next to it with a slight different colour of the original also.

With this group of experiments I looked at a different photo to experiment with and I went for the one that were small button badges aimed for children, I wanted to try this as originally I intend to go for the audience for children for the reason of my app prototype was aimed for children so I wondered if my website can be suited for children also.

For this piece here I decided to use the photo of my whole entirety of my collection and experiment with that photo in a greyscale aesthetic and adding the photo of my badges spiralled and then I decided to add the colour of the imagery from that also, to see if it works with the greyscale and some bold colouring merged together, which I think it looked decent but I don't see this piece being what I am looking for- for the publication and website because the imagery is way too busy.

With this piece here I went for the same photos but changed both images to colour aesthetics and what I liked about these pieces is that it reminded me of the imagery from Michael Gondry, with the disco light aesthetic, like what you see in one of his music videos called, Around the world by Daft Punk
Here is the link to the song below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JPa3BNi6l4

Screenshot from Daft Punk Around the World
If you look at the lighting looking like disco lights and how they flash where the blackened wall around the circular lighting is, the imagery reminded me of that for the aesthetic.

Here is another experiment of the same image apart form the fact I added blue shadowing of the same image as a layer below the imagery with the colouring which added the disco lighting aesthetic, it also looks like they're neon lights almost like Michael Bosanco's light Graffiti/photography, which very much reminded me of his work also.

Heres some examples of his work below:
Michael Bosanko's work I found on google images

With this piece I decided to add the blue shadowing underneath the badges in the photo but using the photo of the whole collection scattered to see what happens ed with this image all what it did was add a blue shadow which I am not convinced worked brilliantly because there was to much blue in the wrong places.

With this imagery here I experimented with a different aesthetic using darker exposures on the imagery and for me this aesthetic very much reminds me of imagery you'd say on bands and looks very busy, hectic and very trippy also.

With this piece here I decided to go with a darker aesthetic but also some light colours in this piece too I quite like this piece, but is a bit too chaotic for my liking with this piece.

This piece here I decided to go again with the darkest Essex but with the black I didn't it to a grey rather than black and I like this piece better because you can see the images of the badges but in a small scale compared to the piece of art and I like that you have to look into the piece to see the badges it's a very unique piece and it is one of my favourite ones out of this entry.

What is this variation because I like the version I did above I decided to experiment with this a little further by changing the colour of the imagery from the white to pink which was okay but I don't think it works as well because I thought the pink was a bit too bright and the overshadowed a lot of the imagery and the purpose of it and you can't really see a lot of
the imagery.

On this piece I developed further by adding a yellow tint to the space and I feel that worked a bit better than I did in the pink pink because of the black and yellow control such as spoke about earlier in the century I think it works better and you can see the badges more and it brings out the veggies a bit as well and if you have the piece at a distance I think it just works better for the aesthetic and it looking more eye captivating.

On this version I decided to lighten the amount of yellow there is just for the images of the badges to shine out a bit more so you can see them a bit better and just say the dynamic works a bit more and it's less intense

Move this version here I decided to paint in the yellow a bit more and add some blue into this piece as well and paint that down to the same a pasta tea and I think this face lights really well and I think adding the yellow and the blue made it stronger as a aesthetically pleasing piece and to capture the eyes of my audiences.

For this piece I decided to go with a very light aesthetic which I like but I do think It is a bit chaotic and all over the place, the dynamic is nicer because you can see every detail but again I don't see this being a piece i'd use for my final website and publication layouts because the piece has too much going on.

For this image I lightened the image where the badges are scattered, its a good effect but I think the opacity brightness is too high and has over exposed the lighter sections of the image so for that reason I won't be including this in my final outcomes either.  I experimented with this because I figured there is nothing wrong with trail and error and thought it may go well depending on what I don with my experimentation processes.

With this variation I decided to incorporate the same image as separate layers and overlay them to see what I can recreate, I like how the text looks as if it is shadowing and I also liked how you can see the primary colours how there is a lot of power from those colours showing in this piece as well as the secondary colours which makes this piece a strong dynamic.

With this piece I like how minimal it is compared to the other imagery you see on this entry, where it has a painted aesthetic to it but not only that but it reminds me of the photocopy like the photo transfer like print, Where it looks like paint has been hairdryer on the imagery.

With this piece it is extemely on the chaotic side, it has so much going on that in actual fact I wouldn't know where to look first in the image it is very trippy and where ti has so much going on its in fact puts me off a bit from wanting to use this image further for my final outcomes, less is more as they say and this is one of those times where too much more is way
too much.

With this piece here I decided to create some experiments which are greyscale with a little amount of colour, I did this as experimentation with saturations, blend modes
and pattern.

On this piece it is very busy with alot of colour in this piece which is more exciting but I still think the colouring is too dominant and has too much going on with tis image but I have a liking on the rippling effect it distracts you from the madness in this piece because it makes you want to look at the rapid parts more than the fact there is too much going on as it makes you question what is going on in the image.

On this image here, the experimentation is a juxtaposition, where I amalgamated more than one pattern, the maze pattern and the rippled pattern to this piece to see what it all looked like.  I've developed further by adding looks like to be a labyrinth like a static with the crack seen the image that you see in in there which gives the juxtaposition of the rippling affect and the cracking affects from the rapid like water aesthetic which I quite liked and figured it would be a good idea to incorporate the two together because its two dynamics which somehow work well where they're combined textures.

This experiment is just a Lightened Version of the previous image.

A little bolder in the image with an added spiral starting where the middle of the
rippling effect is.

With this piece I just made this piece darker on the imagery so its clearer to see and more dominant against the maze crack aesthetics.

Here is a much lighter version where it starts to incorporate, pop art aesthetic with the labyrinth like aesthetic combined with the Pop Art appearance.

These two piece here reminds me very much of the Pop Art aesthetic, looking at the 1950/60's retro pop art, such as Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhole's kind of work with the bold and bright colours and some of the bendy dots along with the characters on the badges are of known characters.

Heres some examples of their imagery below:\

 Roy Lichtenstein

Robert Rauschenberg

Andy Warhol

These artists are examples of pop art reason I looked at them is because they focus on trending icons for their artwork and I see badges as a theme they focus on also hence to why I put these examples on this entry.

Colour changing variations

With this section here is where I used the same imagery as you come across above but this time I messed with the hue saturations and experimented with light and dark tones and didn't experiment so much with the various blend modes, it was purely experiments with colour, here's the imagery below.

This was the tools I used to change the colours of the imagery you're about to
come across below.

Light coloured secondary colours

Mix of green, orange, yellows and pinks

Purples, oranges, greens and blue

Darker coloured variation of the image above

Lighter version of images above

Change of colours to pinks, greens and purples

Darker version of image above
