Memory
What is Memory?
The reason why I am doing an entry on memory is because it is one of the main themes I intend on looking at memory through the majority of my project both with the publication & the website/app as badges to me can reflect on memories and can make interesting stories behind them also.
My description of memory is past events that occurred that you remember because of the nerves system gives information into your brain, weather or not you have a good memory or not and if you remember good memories or bad, if you can remember it from photos, objects or even stored in the back of your mind, that to me is memory... it can either be in Long Term Memory. Which means it stays in the back of your mind or there's the short term memory is when you're more likely to forget the event after a certain amount of time. For me memory is an interpreted thing that you remember from the past but you may interpret it in different ways depending on how you visualise the memory if you tell it as a story telling, the event that occurred in the past, you may remember doom photos, objects may trigger memories, various things could be a memory it depends on how people view it on a psychological way, meaning scientifically that is how memory is interpreted but ultimately it is something you remember from past recurrences... but memories could mean endless possibilities.
I asked a couple friends what the word memory means to them, here is what they have said to me:
"It's something you've remember from the past" ~ Spencer, Old friend at School.
"Things associated with words, ie- Ice cream = holiday. or armchair = grandad Psychologists sometimes ask their patients to take part in a word association game. ~ Noah, a Fellow peer.
"I'd say the process of the brain that triggers when both positive and negative life events have occurred causing cognitive thinking ofsaisd events or arroustion of emotions" ~ Harry, A good friend of mine.
"Definition of memory to me is the way our mind processes information from the world around us that has an effect on how we think and feel. Also how we remember important information like personal email and phone number that gets drilled into your brain " ~ Alia, A good friend of mine.
“Remembering things from the past” ~ Kim, a good friend of mine.
Dictionary definition: Mental capacity or faculty of retaining and reviving facts, events, impressions, etc., or of recalling or recognising previous experiences.
This is an added reason why I wanted to try and make a memory game for my website for the interactive component to follow onto the theme of memory, here is the link to my memory game: https://interacty.me/projects/4f5f5e0bc7861a34
Here is a screen recording of me playing the memory game, this is to add sound whenever I get a pair.
